Persistent coughing after tonsillectomy?
I got my tonsils and adenoids removed exactly 14 days ago. I have followed all of the post-op instructions my doctor gave me (i.e. no steamy showers, no hard or warm foods, no strenuous activity). A few hours ago, I suddenly started coughing and now I can't stop! It feels like there is something in the back of my throat that needs to be coughed up. Is this normal, or should I contact my doctor? Also, I feel like coughing and clearing my throat may be dangerous...should I try to hold the coughs in? Someone please explain to me what's going on!
